REX was a labor of love that continued throughout the semester sophomore year. He was part of MIT's storied 2.007 robot competition class, one of MIT's core mechanical engineering requirements.

And though the final steps did not work as planned, building the robot was quite the experience. The importance of time management in an engineering project as well as the need to recognize key system limitations both arose.
Indeed, on competition day, I did meet the ill fate of getting stuck in the starting box. Despite the sorrow that accompanies such a demise, I remain proud of the engineering feat accomplished and over 60 lbs. of force imparted to said can.
